About

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter that houses hundreds of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens.

millie1We were founded on January 15th, 1945 by a group of animal lovers with Frances Weil leading the cause. In April of 1998, we began operating out of our current facility which was donated to us by Tom and Cora Keeler.

Since our beginning, we have been dedicated to providing the best care possible to the animals under our roof. Our mission is to find loving, responsible forever homes for all of the orphaned animals at GCHS.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Adopters are sent home with their first 6 months of heartworm prevention, a starter bag of Science Diet food, a voucher for a free wellness exam at participating Veterinary offices, a leash and a collar, and a toy.

lavenderAs a non-profit organization, we depend solely on donations from the public to keep our doors open and to continue caring for the hundreds of animals that come through our doors yearly.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, simply visit our website http://www.gchscc.org and click on the DONATE button! Or you could just click here!

We can always use items such as newspaper, blankets, towels, grooming supplies, leashes, and more. You can check out our Amazon.com wishlist here!

Our goal is to find the best possible forever home for every orphaned animal that comes through our doors.
